WHO ORGANIZE THE SUMMIT?

 The First World Summit is organized by the Corporation Group Tayrona, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Ambient, Housing and Territorial Development and a net of support constituted by national and international entities.

WHEN AND WHERE?

The First World Summit will be held from the 26th to 30^th August 2003, in the city of Cartagena de Indias - Colombia.

WHY THE FIRST WORLD SUMMIT OF EXPERIENCES AND INITIATIVES OF YOUTH IN FAVOR OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT?

Because we consider that the exchange of experiences, knowledge and best practices, as well as the transference of knowledge facilitates the replication of successful initiatives, decrease the duplicity of efforts, generates collective learning and provides successful models to implement the proposals of the sustainable development

Because to recognize, to value and to give visibility to the contributions that youth are achieving in different areas to the sustainable development, stimulates and increase the juvenile initiatives.

Because we are aware of the importance of fomenting the dialogue and the cooperation among all towns, for that reason we decide to organize a world summit to foment and to strengthen the solidarity among youth and to project the youth's commitment with the sustainable development.

THE SUMMIT, WHAT FOR:

 ·        For the exchange of experiences and knowledge.

·        For the reflection on environment, youth and sustainable development topics.

·        To give visibility to the experiences and juvenile initiatives in favor of the Sustainable Development.

·        To promote the participation of financial, technical organizations and international donors and in the same way to explore the possibility of financing for youth initiatives in favor of the sustainable development.

·        For the establishment of contacts and alliances.

·        For the harmonic coexistence with other cultures.

·        To Know the second country mega-diverse the world and the city of Cartagena, declared by UNESCO as patrimony of the humanity.

WHO IS THE SUMMIT FOR?

The First World Summit of Experiences and Initiatives of Youth, is focused on youth from schools, universities, professionals, investigators, academic institutions, non-government organizations, juvenile organizations, the youth councils, government entities and Agencies of International Cooperation, among others.

This summit will gather people:

 ·        With different proposals that face with creative alternatives the challenges of the XXI century.

·        That admire and respect the biological and cultural diversity.

·        That identify, plane and carry out actions guided to build a sustainable development.

That assume with dedication and respect the interdisciplinary work.
